Claude answers from two places: what it learned in training, and pages it finds when it searches the web. Search answers cite their sources, so that is where a page can earn a visible citation.

Allow Claude-SearchBot and Claude-User in robots.txt, and check that your CDN or firewall does not block them. If either is blocked, Claude cannot find or read the page when it searches.
Put the main content in the HTML. Anthropic's crawlers do not run JavaScript, so text rendered only in the browser is invisible to them.
Answer the question in the first lines of a section. A page that states the answer, with the specific facts and numbers, is easier to quote than one that builds up to it.
Earn mentions on the sites that get cited for your category. Comparison articles, review sites and community threads are often what an AI search answer cites, not your own page.
Keep facts about your product consistent across your site, directories and profiles, so the description Claude learned in training matches what it finds today.
